Thymosin Alpha 1 (TA1)

Thymosin Alpha-1 is a synthetic 28-amino-acid peptide, N-terminally acetylated, with the sequence Ac-Ser-Asp-Ala-Ala-Val-Asp-Thr-Ser-Ser-Glu-Ile-Thr-Thr-Lys-Thr-Leu-Thr-Leu-Ser-Asp-Tyr-Leu-Val-Leu-Leu-Leu-Thr-Arg. It corresponds to the N-terminal 28 residues of prothymosin alpha and was first isolated from bovine thymic tissue in 1972. In published literature, TA1 has been characterized in connection with Toll-like receptor 2 and 9 signaling, dendritic cell maturation, and T-lymphocyte differentiation.
